Short Bio
Vanilson Burégio is currently Assistant Professor in the Computing Department of Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). He has BSc, MSc and PhD in Computer Science from Federal University of Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil. He is one of the proponents and pioneers of the Social Machine paradigm in the field of software engineering. His research explores how to use such paradigm in the design and implementation of emerging collaborative systems and social enterprises. He is a software engineering expert with 19 years of experience in the development of medium- and large-scale information systems, having performed multiple roles such as R&D researcher, software architect, developer, system analyst and team leader in private and government institutions as well as national and international companies.
